According to cnBeta, Piper Sandler reports that Intel Foundry Services’ 14A (1.4nm) process is being evaluated by major tech and chip players including Apple, Amazon, AMD, Google, Tesla, Microsoft, Nvidia, and Qualcomm, as Intel aims to push IDM 2.0 with 14A and target pilot production by 2027. The process is expected to reduce power by 25-35% and improve per-watt performance by 15-20%, with a 30% gain in logic density, and will use RibbonFET GAA transistors, PowerDirect, and High-NA EUV lithography. Intel has opened the 14A design kit to external customers to boost confidence in yield and delivery, while customers weigh collaboration opportunities for future AI and server workloads.
