According to CNA Business, OVHcloud and CGI won a 30-month European Space Agency contract to build the Digital EO system for Europe’s Earth observation data, with a multi-million euro value and the aim to store and process data from Copernicus and DestinE. The system will deploy in Italy, France and Germany with support operations from Poland, and ESA expects more than 500 petabytes of data by 2035. The contract follows a €180 million cloud tender won by four European firms in April, and comes as ESA also studies a security-focused architecture led by ICEYE and Leonardo.
