According to Nikkei Asia, India’s regulator has issued notices to Nestle, PepsiCo, Coca-Cola, Danone, KFC, and McDonald’s regarding nutritional labels, as the country moves toward health warnings for packaged foods high in sugar, salt, and fat. It notes that Fanta sold in India reportedly contains more sugar than in Germany, the U.K., or the U.S., and the policy could force global food companies to rethink product strategy in one of the world’s largest and fastest-growing markets.
