According to The Korea Times Business, China is becoming a crucial revenue lifeline for Korea’s struggling low-cost carriers as August passenger traffic between Korea and China rose to 2.13 million, up 27.5% year over year and 9.7% from July. The latest traffic-rights allocations gave major LCCs more weekly slots on routes from Seoul to Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, potentially helping to diversify earnings beyond Japan and other markets.
