GWM stated that the Australian market is not ready for a battery-electric ute. GWM is expanding its plug-in hybrid ute range with the arrival of an Hi4-T version of the smaller Cannon in mid-October.
According to CarExpert, GWM Ora 5’s Australian range will expand to include a larger SUV, a lower hatchback, and potentially a sedan, with the hatch already confirmed for Australia. The hatch is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2027, with a price potentially starting under $30,000 drive-away, while a sedan version is being assessed for a local launch in the first half of 2027.
According to CarExpert, the Subaru Trailseeker in Australia now offers a space-saver spare wheel as a $1145 option and has opened pre-orders for a Genuine Subaru Australia Towbar at $1189.59, with fitment scheduled before Christmas 2026. Pre-orders are available through Subaru's retail network, and the towbar provides braked towing up to 1500kg and unbraked towing up to 750kg; the spare wheel is mounted under the boot floor.
