According to IT Home, Cognex announces an agreement to acquire Intel's RealSense for approximately $500 million, with the deal expected to close in 2026 Q4 and covering only RealSense's stereo depth camera business. The facial recognition authentication business will be spun off as a separate company before the closing, and Cognex plans a cash retention plan of $56.5 million over three years plus about $50 million in restricted stock based on existing options and incentive plans.
