AMD to Acquire AI Startup World Labs for $8.2 Billion
AMD has reached a definitive agreement to acquire San Francisco-based AI startup World Labs in an all-stock transaction valued at approximately $8.2 billion. As part of the deal, World Labs founder Fei-Fei Li will join AMD as executive vice president and chief scientist. The acquisition aims to bolster AMD's capabilities in spatial intelligence and world models to compete in the AI hardware market.
